Installation

Mounting: Surface mount ceiling.

  1. Switch off power at the breaker and confirm it is off.
  2. Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box.
  3. Connect live, neutral and ground wires as marked (typically black to black, white to white, ground to green or bare copper).
  4. Fix the spotlight to the bracket and aim the head.
  5. Restore power and test.

Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified electrician following local code.

Care
  • Switch off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
  • Dust metal parts with a dry microfibre cloth; avoid abrasive or ammonia-based cleaners, which can dull the finish.
  • The LED is integrated, so there are no bulbs to replace.

Where it hangs best

For artwork accent lighting, mount 18 to 24 inches from the wall and aim at a 30-degree angle to the wall surface for even face illumination without glare. For kitchen cabinet accent lighting, install along the cabinet run and aim downward to illuminate both the cabinet fronts and the counter surface below. In sets of 4 to 6 for gallery walls, space each spot to cover one artwork or artwork cluster with a dedicated directed beam. In bathrooms, a pair flanking the mirror area at face height provides the most flattering facial illumination for grooming applications.

General guidelines
Over a table or island
Leave about 30–36 in between the surface and the bottom of the fixture so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
Open floor
Where people walk underneath, keep 7 ft (84 in) or more of headroom; add 3 in for each foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
Over a long table
Aim for a fixture about half to two thirds the table's length, or a row of pendants spaced 24–30 in apart.
The bulb
2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.
Check it against your room

Designer's rule of thumb: add the room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is a good fixture width.
