Install over the primary dining surface with the bottom of the pendant at 28 to 36 inches above the table — lower within that range in restaurant environments where the fixture should be within the visual field of seated guests and the color effect reads most dramatically at close range. For event spaces and gallery installations, mount multiple parallel units for full-coverage color wash across the entire ceiling field. For bars and counter seating, install at a height that keeps the linear fixture above head level (50 to 60 inches above the bar surface) while maintaining visual connection with the seating below. Use warm white as the default for regular dining service and activate RGB modes for private events, themed programming, and any branded installation where color reinforces the visual identity of the space.
- Over a table or island
- Leave about 30–36 in between the surface and the bottom of the fixture so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
- Open floor
- Where people walk underneath, keep 7 ft (84 in) or more of headroom; add 3 in for each foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
- Over a long table
- Aim for a fixture about half to two thirds the table's length, or a row of pendants spaced 24–30 in apart.
- The bulb
- 2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.
Designer's rule of thumb: add the room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is a good fixture width.

Can my ceiling hold it?
