Where it hangs best
Center over the primary dining or seating arrangement and use the dimmable feature to transition the room from functional daytime use to intimate evening dining. In living rooms, pair with lamp lighting to create layered warm ambient illumination from multiple points rather than relying on the ceiling fixture as the sole light source. The amber glass quality reads most beautifully in rooms with warm color palettes — it amplifies existing warm tones. In rooms with cooler, gray-dominated palettes, the amber fixture serves as the warm accent that prevents the interior from reading as cold.
- Over a table or island
- Leave about 30–36 in between the surface and the bottom of the fixture so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
- Open floor
- Where people walk underneath, keep 7 ft (84 in) or more of headroom; add 3 in for each foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
- Over a long table
- Aim for a fixture about half to two thirds the table's length, or a row of pendants spaced 24–30 in apart.
- The bulb
- 2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.
Designer's rule of thumb: add the room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is a good fixture width.
