Installation & care

In the box

Included

Vesper Ribbed Flushmount fixture (ribbed glass shade and iron frame)
Mounting hardware and canopy for ceiling installation

Not Included

Light bulbs (2x E26 base, 40W max each)

Installation

This is a hardwired fixture and should be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical codes, with power disconnected at the breaker before work begins.

Turn off power to the circuit at the breaker box and confirm with a voltage tester.
Mount the ceiling bracket to the electrical junction box (the 12" canopy should fully cover the junction box opening).
Connect the fixture's wiring to the household wiring (ground, neutral, and live) inside the junction box.
Install the bulb(s) into the socket(s) before attaching the shade, if the shade's design makes the bulb hard to reach once assembled.
Fit the ribbed glass shade over the sockets and secure it to the frame according to the fixture's hardware.
Secure the fixture flush to the ceiling and restore power at the breaker, then test.

Care

The fixture's ribbed glass shade and iron frame should be cleaned gently to keep its finish and appearance looking new.

Turn off power and let any bulb cool before cleaning.
Dust the ribbed glass shade and iron frame with a soft, dry cloth on a regular basis.
Avoid household glass/metal cleaners and abrasive pads, which can dull or scratch the finish.
Pay extra attention to the grooves of the ribbed glass, where dust tends to collect more than on a flat surface.

Returns & warranty

Eligible items can be returned within 30 days in line with our return policy.

If your fixture arrives damaged, email photos of the item and packaging to support@airhvn.com and we'll help put it right.

Vesper Ribbed Flushmount

The design

Vesper brings a vintage sensibility into a flushmount silhouette, wrapping an iron frame in a ribbed glass shade that filters light into a soft, even glow. The ribbing catches and scatters light in a way a smooth shade doesn't, giving the fixture texture and warmth even when switched off.

Its low 6.5" profile is a deliberate choice: Vesper is built for rooms where ceiling height is at a premium, bringing farmhouse-inspired character to kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, and hallways without hanging down into the room.

Material & craft

Up close

The Vesper Ribbed Flushmount pairs an iron frame with a ribbed glass shade, a combination chosen for vintage charm and soft, ambient light. The vertical ribbing in the glass diffuses the light from its 2 bulbs, avoiding harsh glare while still filling the room.

Its farmhouse-inspired finish and compact footprint make it well suited to low ceilings and cozy rooms, where a pendant or chandelier might feel out of scale. It's available in Tumbled Brass, Black, and Polished Nickel, so the hardware tone can be matched to existing fixtures and finishes in the room.

Lit

After dark

The ribbed glass shade has a vertically grooved texture that diffuses light and adds a tactile, vintage quality to the fixture. It pairs with an iron frame available in Tumbled Brass, Black, or Polished Nickel, giving you a warm or cool metal tone depending on the finish chosen.

Scale & proportion

Will it fit?

All 3 finishes of the Vesper Ribbed Flushmount share the same dimensions: 14" diameter x 6.5" height, with a 12" diameter canopy. Choosing a different finish changes only the color of the glass and frame, not the size or electrical specifications.

General guidelines

Over a table or island: Leave about 30–36 in between the surface and the bottom of the fixture so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
Open floor: Where people walk underneath, keep 7 ft (84 in) or more of headroom; add 3 in for each foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
Over a long table: Aim for a fixture about half to two thirds the table's length, or a row of pendants spaced 24–30 in apart.
The bulb: 2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.

Check it against your room

Designer's rule of thumb: add the room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is a good fixture width.

Questions

Questions about the Vesper Ribbed Flushmount

The questions people ask before they order, answered straight.

This fixture

How many bulbs does the Vesper flushmount take?

It takes 2 bulbs, each with an E26 base and a maximum wattage of 40W. Bulbs are not included.

Is the Vesper flushmount a good fit for low ceilings?

Yes. At 6.5" in height, its compact, flush-to-ceiling footprint is intended for low ceilings and cozy rooms where a hanging pendant may not fit comfortably.

What finishes are available?

The Vesper Ribbed Flushmount comes in Tumbled Brass, Black, and Polished Nickel, all in the same 14" diameter size.

Does the shade material affect how much light comes through?

The ribbed glass shade is designed to diffuse the light from the 2 bulbs, softening it into an ambient glow rather than a direct, glaring light source.
