Where it hangs best
Center over the dining table or the room's visual center. For dining rooms with 9 to 10-foot ceilings, the 12-head configuration hung at standard chandelier height suits tables seating 6 to 8. The 20-head version is appropriate for larger dining rooms and double-height foyers where a 12-head fixture would look undersized. For barn conversions and double-height event spaces, the 42-head configuration can hang significantly lower than the ceiling without losing visual authority — the full ring diameter at a lower height creates a more intimate, immersive presence than a smaller fixture hung close to a high ceiling. Use warm filament or flame-tip LED bulbs in the 2200K to 2700K range for authentic candle-quality warmth.
- Over a table or island
- Leave about 30–36 in between the surface and the bottom of the fixture so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
- Open floor
- Where people walk underneath, keep 7 ft (84 in) or more of headroom; add 3 in for each foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
- Over a long table
- Aim for a fixture about half to two thirds the table's length, or a row of pendants spaced 24–30 in apart.
- The bulb
- 2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.
Designer's rule of thumb: add the room's length and width in feet. That number, in inches, is a good fixture width.

Installation
Can my ceiling hold it?
Standard ceiling boxes are rated for fixtures up to 50 lb. Heavier pieces need a box rated for the weight, fixed to framing; your electrician will check this. Email us for the fixture's weight before you order.
