Installation

Mounting: Indoor wall mount, hardwire.

  1. Switch off power at the breaker and confirm it is off.
  2. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall junction box.
  3. Connect live, neutral and ground wires as marked (typically black to black, white to white, ground to green or bare copper).
  4. Fix the sconce body to the bracket.
  5. Restore power and test.

Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified electrician following local code.

Care
  • Switch off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
  • Dust metal parts with a dry microfibre cloth; avoid abrasive or ammonia-based cleaners, which can dull the finish.
  • The LED is integrated, so there are no bulbs to replace.

The design

The slim, integrated LED profile of this wall sconce reads as a designed architectural element rather than a mounted light fitting. Most indoor wall sconces exist to add ambient light to a wall and a bit of visual character to a room -- and many of them manage the second goal while barely attempting the first. Mount at 60 to 72 inches above the floor for the most balanced up-down distribution in most room contexts. In hallways, space pairs or sets every 6 to 8 feet for even coverage along the run. In living rooms and bedrooms, position to supplement the primary overhead lighting and add a warm ambient light layer at wall level. In dining rooms without a primary overhead fixture, a pair of higher-wattage versions (15W to 20W) flanking the dining area can provide sufficient ambient light for comfortable dining. For stairwells, a run of fixtures positioned at consistent staircase heights creates safe, atmospheric stair lighting.

General guidelines
Living spaces
Mount around 60–66 in from the floor to the center of the fixture, near eye level.
Bathroom vanity
Either side of the mirror at about 64–70 in, or one fixture centered above it around 75–80 in.
Hallways
Space sconces roughly 8–10 ft apart for an even wash of light.
The bulb
2700K–3000K warm white suits living and dining rooms; 3000K–3500K reads crisper in kitchens and baths.
